Today, SL campus…tomorrow, the real thing

Yup, tomorrow I enroll in an “executive masters degree program” at Ohio University. First time back as a full-time student in 15 years. Wow….

  1. Good luck, Morris! I have found that going back to school when I was older actually worked out much better.

(Do you still have your job, too, or are you going to school full time?)

  2. In fact, I forgot to mention in my previous post, I have just signed up for some art classes, and hope to go in a more creative direction myself (in RL, instead of SL!).

Inspired by my daughter, who is in college studying graphic design, and absolutely loves it. I’m starting really basic, myself. Me, a pencil, and a piece of paper. BASIC drawing! We’ll see where it leads from there. I want to work with some fused glasswork, and painting. Maybe some multi-media altered art or collage too. We’ll see.

  3. Hi Princess – Yeah, I still have my full-time job. I hear that this first quarter will be a bear. Sigh.

Enjoy your own educational pursuits! If I’ve learned anything from SL, it’s that you never stop learning.

  4. Morris,

How is school going? Are you able to balance it with work?

My drawing class got cancelled. I start tonight in about an hour with oil and acrylic painting instead. I am terrified! I’ve never worked in those mediums. 🙂 I would have been more comfortable starting with basic drawing, but they didn’t have enough people signed up to take it, so they had to drop it.

  5. Well, I found out that the program intends for the student to be a “full-time student” at the same time that one is a “full-time worker”. That’s great for the worker who works 40 or less hours a week. I’m in the 55-60 range, and I’m having a hard time. But I’m sure you figured that, as my blog activity ground to a halt. Same for SL.

To quote our discredited current President, this is “hard work!”
