The Babbage Halloween Festival & Parade

Babbage Halloween Parade signI promised an update on Madcow’s forthcoming Babbage Halloween Festival, and here it is!

Upon teleporting me to his steampunk lab site in the Port Babbage sim, Madcow said that the creativity unleashed in this parade is not unlike the incredible Oyster Bay Balloon Festival. And when MADCOW COSMOS says that, WATCH OUT!

You see, Madcow Cosmos has constructed a fleet of “Madcow” parade floats for the viewing audience’s enjoyment. He gave me a sneak preview (along with art patron Jurin Juran, who was showing off her new monkey avatar), and let’s allow the pictures to tell most of the stories!

Now, the “avatar floats” – you WEAR these in place of your skin, hair, etc. and move them around like they are you! Most of them have many moving parts as well.  What fun!

MANY more after the fold…

Madcow Cosmos is BACK

And “Mechanical Afterlife” is his latest…and on display on the featured platform at Oyster Bay:

Madcow’s been hanging out with the steampunkers in the Babbage sim, and it sure shows!  His first piece after a summer of (literally, RL-style) wandering the woods lets his steampunk leanings shine while including, interestingly, an environmental/organic theme that perhaps came out of his summertime walks? Regardless, it’s a great piece.

Madcow also has been busy preparing for a parade/festival to take place in Babbage this weekend.  I saw his – ummm – parade marching steampunk robot phalanx (no kidding), and I’ll try to grab a snapshot for the blog.  Also, I’ll endeavor to grab additional information on the Babbage celebration.

Cheen Pitney’s latest sculpture…

…some say his best ever. You can view “Kneeling Angel” on the Oyster Bay waterfront.  Cheen’s best or not – that’s a topic for debate, considering his considerable library of fantastic SL sculpture.  It certainly is a great one.  Please come and see it for yourself.

Thanks to Isolde Flamand for the great photo!
